It looks like the SSN was used on a previously accepted e-filed return. To fix, send in a paper return

As long as he is current with child support, I don't see a problem personally.
For a divorce final before 2008, I believe,  the divorce degree would have worked. The lawyer should stay away from tax law. The only way is to get the 8332 signed. 
At least we don't have to enter every single bloody state ein # this year. I will take checking a box over entering a raft of numbers any day.

I just checked, when I am in the details tab and go to View, the Details/Forms view is available. My version is 38.0103.
In Lacerte you can't even view the PPR return (unless you set the SSN to all 9's) without paying the REP fee.
I will pitch in some of my valuable Intuit points (maybe 3,000 or so) to help your cause, Mr. Yote.
