Hey guys, I've never really been 100% the modus operandi for this one so I'll ask here. In filing my own return as both the preparer and the ERO, should I just mark "Self Prepared" in the Federal Information Worksheet? Is that enough?
I certainly don't want to get audited or have the IRS look at the return funny but I also would prefer to use ProSeries for my own return just as I am for my clients.
Thanks in advance,
Happy New Year.

Yes, that is what should be done, and that is all you need to do.
However, in some previous years ProSeries gives you error messages of various sorts. Some of us just don't bother with the "self prepared" and just leave it as a paid preparer. It won't be an audit flag or anything like that.

I sign my own return as the Paid Preparer just like any return I prepare, whether Im paid or not. 🤷

I also do mine as the paid preparer and not as self prepared.
