I am getting an error that the original return has not been accepted. I did not prepare the original and am trying to do the 1040x. is there a workaround?

when I check the amended box in proseries error pops up that the original has not been efiled, but it has by the person who did the return before.

You can only Efile amendments for returns that YOU Efiled the original using ProSeries.

You can still preparer the amended, but it will need to be filed on paper.
