I loaded the 2020 version of Basic but i did not see a place to enter a shortcut( icon) on my screen. What should i do?
I always just use the start menu, but if you like shortcuts, Google is still your friend:

Just drag and drop from the Windows Programs menu onto the Desktop and it will turn into a shortcut.
This is curious.. it should have been created by the installer:
