error issue: W-2G claimed state income tax withholding but did not provide the state abbreviation. It's entered on Line 13 but I'm getting eFile error and rejection. Can anyone help? Am I missing something? The tax withheld is included in total on OH IT-40.

What state was the casino/W-2G issuer in? My guess is that is the state you would enter.

The issue may be a technical one because the winnings were in Ohio and I have entered OH on line 13 of the W-2G worksheet. I don't understand efile rejection.

I have had the same problem for three years now with any gambling winnings with state of Ohio. In the past the only thing I could do was to enter without w-2g for gambling winnings and enter withholding as an estimated payment. If you figure it out, please let me know. I have one right now I am trying to get it to efile.

@richj13 What's the e-file rejection code you're receiving? Thanks!

I may have figured it out. When you enter Ohio I’d number, make sure you put in the dash. I added it to a rejection return and it went through.
