I cannot efile 2017 return on Proseries even though I have renewed for 2018 software. It is telling me I have not done this, I have updated and tried to call but they are closed.

If you are referring to a 1040, you can’t e-file until the 2018 filing season opens on 1/28.

You may want to Re-License your software, just to be sure it realizes you have renewed. In Professional this is down in Tools> License Products, not sure exactly where it is in Basic, you may have to look around in the top menu bar choices.

@michaeladalejame - the *shutdown* for efiling is normal & happens every year. It's not connected to the governmental "pissin' at each other over the wall" shutdown. Just an FYI
