I went to download my pro series 2018 basic, and see i have 2 different products i can download and noted as paid for. They are the pro series basic, which i have used in past year, and there is a 2018 pro series professional available to download. I am confused by the choices. Is there a difference in the 2 products listed above?

As Lisa said, you can use Basic for whatever you license allows (such as Unlimited returns or 50 returns).  Basic only prepares Individual tax returns.

If you need an Entity return (Corporation, Partnership, etc.) or need one of the few forms that Basic does not have, you can prepare it with Professional, but you PAY for EACH tax return that you do in Professional (besides the purchase cost that you have already paid for Basic).

Here is a chart for differences in all tax products https://accountants-community.intuit.com/articles/1606112-comparing-lacerte-and-proseries-and-procon...

This compares the two PS https://proconnect.intuit.com/proseries/compare-packages/?s_cid=SEM_PS_G_BR_g_e_proserie_proserie_3Q...

This shows the pricing https://proconnect.intuit.com/proseries/pricing-main/

I doubt that answers your question so I will call on a PS user to try to help

Basic users have to use Professional for business (1065, 1120, 1041) returns on a PPR basis, that's why there are 2 choices.
