I dont think theyve announced the date yet, its generally one of the last few days of January, maybe the 27th?. And not all returns will be able to be filed when it opens, not all forms will be final and ready to go by then.  And of course, returns with refundable credits like EIC wont even start being processed by IRS until mid-February, so there really isnt any rush.

It will be sometime in Late January 2020

even tho it has not been announced but for some reason form 1040 will be final of 1.21.20 which is the day after mlk day - hopefully that will be date instead of the last week of january

Ok, but the old counter is getting worn out.  I wonder if Intuit would spring for a new one.  On second though, never mind.  I'm sure I wouldn't be able to run any counter they would provide since it obviously would be "enhanced".
