Does Lacerte have the capability of printing "FEP" on Line 16b for nontaxable foreign employer pension distribution? It's not clear to me whether it needs to be printed on the return, or if just checking the appropriate boxes under "Additional Electronic Filing Information" will suffice.

Pension is now on Line 4 instead of Line 16. No, FEP tells the IRS nothing about the pension and is not a standard notation.
I suppose you have reviewed the treaty for appropriate tax treatment and/or reviewed your client's prior year returns to establish that the correct filing position had been taken on the prior years' tax returns in your determination of the taxpayer's basis.

Thank you! I am working on a 2017 return. Yes, I have reviewed the treaty.
