How about 

If acknowledgements do not automatically apply

  1. Highlight the client on the Client list.
  2. Click the E-File menu.
  3. Mouse-over Step 3 e-file acknowledgement status.
  4. Select Update Acknowledgement Status for Selected Return(s).

My last suggestion is the dreaded call to support.
