Can I transfer 2017 client data to the 2018 program before I send out 2017 organizers, or does transferring the clients first mess up sending out the organizers later.

My question is about the order of setting up for the 2018 tax year. Is it necessary do finish sending the organizers before I transfer my client data tot the 2018 program?
