Form 8824 in ProSeries is showing errors for unlike-kind property

This article will help you solve the Final Review errors:

• Form 8824: Summary Smart Wks, Line U must be entered.
• Form 8824: Non-Like-Kind Line X must be entered.
• Form 8824: Summary Smart Wks, Ln Z must be entered.

If there was no unlike property given up:

1. Open the Form 8824.
2. Scroll down to the Summary Smart Worksheet.
3. On line J remove any entries, including a 0.

If there was unlike property given up:

1. Open the Form 8824.
2. Scroll down to the Summary Smart Worksheet.
3. On line J enter the value of the other property given up.
4. Scroll down to the Additional Information Regarding UNLIKE-Kind Property Given Up Smart Worksheet.
5. Complete the required entries on lines U-Z.
