Intuit Educational Institution Software Program

Intuit provides free software to educational institutions participating in Intuit's Educational Software Program. The software may only be used as a learning tool for class instruction (the instructional use), and may not be used for any commercial use, such as the filing of tax returns.

To apply for a software grant, send a letter of intent, on letterhead from the educational institution, which includes a description of how the software will be used. Also, review, complete, and sign the Intuit Education Program Amendment.

Intuit VITA Provider Software Program

Intuit provides free software to not-for-profit organizations participating in the Internal Revenue Service's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and/or Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs. The software may only be used for the filing of free tax returns, electronically or otherwise, and may not be used for commercially prepared tax returns.

To apply for a software grant, send a letter of intent, on letterhead from the not-for-profit organization, which includes a description of how the software will be used. Also, review, complete, and sign the Intuit VITA/TCE Program Amendment.

Each licensed site must provide EFIN verification to enroll for e-file services.

Grant application process

Send the letter of intent on letterhead and the signed amendment to ProOrderProcessing@Intuit.com. If you have an Intuit Customer Account Number, include that with your request. Send to the attention of: Intuit Education / VITA Software Grant Program.

TY21 grant software will be available around January 3, 2022. Orders usually take 7 business days to process. After the order is processed, a confirmation email will be sent within 24-48 hours with download instructions.
