What's new for 2020 ProSeries?

The following features and improvements will be available in the 2020 version of ProSeries:

As part of our continued 2020 goals of meeting or exceeding IRS security guidelines, ProSeries will soon be offering improvements to EFIN data validation. This new security change will lead to fewer rejections for data mismatches in your firm.

In tax year 2019 Professional users were able to sort by column, but the enhanced option for tax year 2020 will offer you the ability to drill down with multiple column filters and search functionality to filter to a single return or group of returns based on your needs.

Platform enhancements and database replacement work help ensure higher quality and reliability in ProSeries in tax year 2020 and beyond so you can stay focused on your clients. New upgrades will help ensure you get alerts when you need them.

It's now even easier to view and track Pay by Refund applications and payment status. The Pay by Refund HomeBase view allows you to see your client's status, next steps, status date, expected refund, funded amount and funded date. You'll also enjoy faster access to checks ready to print because the new workflow takes check printing out of ProSeries and allows you to print checks digital through the portal at your bank.

ProSeries Professional is now expanding tax pros’ options for capturing in-person electronic signatures. You’ll be able to choose the option that works for you and your clients by choosing to use virtually any device for in-person and out-of-office eSignatures through DocuSign, or in-person signature pad capabilities.

Signature pad capability was introduced in tax year 2019 for in person e-file signature documents, and will now have additional signature forms available in 2020. Availability includes options such as Power of Attorney, allowing more coverage for in-person signatures outside the 8879, 8453, bank product documents, and audit assistance applications. You no longer have to waste time, paper, printer ink, and storage space. Keep your clients’ paperwork organized and at your fingertips with the digital signature pad integrated with ProSeries.

eSignature, previously available for ProSeries Professional only, is now available for ProSeries Basic. Now all ProSeries customers will be able to offer clients the ease and security of anytime, anywhere digital signatures. eSignature is now available for both tax year 2019 and 2020 products for an additional fee.
