Linking tables in Access

I use Access to "merge" the data from all modules to create a report that shows the status and due dates for all tax returns.

Our Lacerte data is in folder L:\2018YR\18TAX\..   in there is cdata, bdata ....

When I an configuring the Lacerte SDI in ODBC - what directory do I enter - L:\2018YR\18TAX\ ?

With this it does not appear to let me access ALL tax modules

Any thoughts ?

You need to establish an ODBC connection to *each* year/module combination.  18/IND cannot read--nor even see--files in a 17/IND folder.
If you have all of your data in a single directory (call it "18data"), then you will see several DBF files, one for each module.  18idata1, 18Fdata1, 18Pdata1, 18Sdata1, and so on.  In this case, while making the ODBC specification, you *will* need to put in the "year" and "module" indicators in the dialog box.
If you have each module broken out to its own directory--18idata, 18Fdata, 18Pdata, and so on--then you will *not* be required to make that year/module designation in the dialog box.  (Because there is only a single year & type of data being looked at.)

I believe this was spelled out on page nine (9) [??] of the PDF manual.

Once you have the connections specified, you will be able to open your 18/IND data with that connection, and your 18/PAR data with that one.  Repeat as needed.

It is not exactly spelled out in the instructions from what I see, but, I did create multiple system data sources - each one pointing to each tax modules directory 18tax\cdata, 18tax\pdata ....

In Access I  -  select external data, new data source, from other sources, odbc database, link to the data.  I then click on the MACHINE DATA SOURCE tab.  It only gives me 1 option for LacerteDSII.

I was thinking I would have multiple LacerteDSII - 1 for each one I setup in ODBC, pointing to each tax module
